REJUVENATE WITH SCOTFREE THERAPY
Your Gateway to Health
Holistic medicine is the art and science of healing that addresses the mind, body and spirit. As an experienced Massage Therapist in Vancouver, I integrate a range of therapies to prevent and treat disease and promote optimal health. I treat with an Osteopathic perspective having completed my 4th and final year of osteopathic studies. My off time is spent teaching at a Massage College in Burnaby and being outdoors playing sports or being active in nature.

2 different treatment approaches for massage therapy

RMT with an Osteopathic perspective
-
Traditional RMT approach
Perspectives

1
RMT with an osteopathic perspective
Typical sessions are without music or lotions, in a sports bra and or tanktop with loose fitting shorts
All body systems will be evaluated and manual therapy provided depending on the dysfunctional system
This may include but is not limited to manipulation of organs, craniosacral systems, fascial, and fluidic systems
Very holistic approach to health but keeping in the scope of practice for Massage Therapists of BC
TREATMENT OPTIONS
(Either approach may involve the following)
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
You probably most often think of this technique when thinking of massage therapy. After finding a hyperirritable nodule, deep pressure is applied until release is achieved

VISCERAL MASSAGE
Due to the attachment and suspension systems holding organs in place, dysfunction can occur in either bony anchors, adjacent structures, or the organs structure itself. Therefore any dysfunction in one structure may affect any other structure its associated with.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
This is a hands-on body treatment that leaves patients feeling relaxed and renewed. I love showing my patients how just a few treatments can make an enormous difference to their health.

CRANIOSACRAL
The craniosacral system can affect all physiological systems of the body. Treatments to these areas can be gentle but also include more structural mobilizations. Often time can be spent on the facial bones as well.

JOINT MOBILIZATIONS & MUSCLE ENERGY
These techniques are more in relation to the articulations than the soft tissues. Due to the nature of the joints the soft tissues are not able to relax until the articulation has been normalized and the neurovascular structures equalized.

PRE/POSTPARTUM MASSAGE
Preparing the body for the birthing process may help ease the delivery thereby reducing the chances for unwanted traumas to the child upon entry into the world. Postpartum treatment helps repair the body.

PEDIATRIC MASSAGE
Correcting compensatory adaptation patterns stemming from the birth process can help facilitate achieving developmental milestones and prevent deep rooted compensations from taking hold. These compensations may play a role in reducing the ability of the child to adapt fully later in life

TMJ Dysfunction
Intr-aoral techniques specifically applied inside the mouth can play a role in reducing symptoms from an array of conditions. conditions having a structural component that may benefit from TMJ treatments can include; dental surgeries, pain, sleep apnea, bruxism, mouth breathing, clicking, headaches, facial pain.

Myofascial Release
Fascial restrictions can have a dramatic widespread effect on literally every structure of the body. There is only one piece of fascia in the body and it organizes into tendons, ligaments, septum, dural coverings, and peritonem. It compartmentalizes and suspends the bodys structures. Any effect on fascia is immediately experienced throughtout the organism.
